Economy: “China Speed” should not be a role model for Germany – but a warning

Many German entrepreneurs and managers dream of "China Speed." But a look at Beijing shows that speed alone doesn't lead to success, but rather to a dead end.
Hardly any debate about Germany's competitiveness currently involves a comparison with China . The economy here is weakening, investment is stagnating, and immediately the call for more speed, for the much-vaunted "China Speed," is heard. This means an administration that doesn't slow down, politicians who don't hesitate, and projects that don't get bogged down in bureaucratic thickets. What sprouts up there within months often takes a decade or more here. No wonder some executives are looking longingly to the East.
